Color
Colored diamonds are found in a vast panorama of colors to entice our sight. Available in almost every imaginable shade from yellow to brown to orange to red, pink, purple, blue, indigo to green. Extraordinary physical conditions and enormous pressure amidst the bowl of the earth create a dazzling colorless diamond. They derive color only when they come in contact with additional elements or inclusion during this process. Rarely there occurs a balanced interaction and accurate radiation, one out of 10,000 diamonds is colored, thus are more precious. A flawless, uniformly colored diamond is an exceptional phenomenon. All colored diamonds are therefore specially treated to derive the perfect exuberance.

Unlike white diamonds ‘Clarity’ the colored diamonds are valued by the intensity and rarity of the Color. Hue, tone and saturation are the three basic factors that determine the color. Hue refers to the dominant or the main color, tone the lightness or darkness when illumined and saturation refers to the purity of color. A pure bright blue diamond can be highly priced but at times a hint of some other color makes it more expensive. The more exclusive and vivid the color, higher the cost of the Colored diamond.

Certification
Colored diamond certification and grading is completely different from the White Diamonds evaluation. The four Cs are definitely crucial but the Color is the foremost determining factor instead of the Clarity. The Hue, Tone and Saturation are checked by placing the loose stone face-up on the table. Categories like faint, light, medium, dark, deep, vivid etc are the popular grades. A vibrant diamond that illumines vividly under light is more valuable than a lighter shade of the same. Perfectly pure single color diamond is often highly priced but a hint of another color can also increase the value to the diamond. It’s the rarity of the shade that makes it more precious.

Gemological institution of America (GIA) and the International Gemological institution (IGI) are the most renowned institutions to certify the diamonds. All diamonds at MySolitaire are GIA and IGI certified SI clarity is a standard grade that determines that inclusions that grant color to the diamonds.

The Cut can magnify the brilliance and fire of the diamond. Complex natural conditions and enormous pressure radically compress the diamond. A color diamond of the same carat can be smaller than a gemstone of the same weight.

Buying a diamond from a reputed online jewelry site can get you an authentic diamond at lesser cost.
