Tourmaline is derived from a Sinhalese word "turamali" or "toramalli". It is generally used for the gemstone found in Sri Lanka. It is a semi-precious gemstone which is a crystal silicate mineral compounded with elements such as aluminum, iron, magnesium, sodium, lithium, or potassium.
