Certification is not to be confused with appraisals. Any jeweler can
appraise the diamond using the metrics set forth for the 4Cs and his/her own
experience. Certification is a report issued by an accredited independent
gemological laboratory after the diamond has been put through extensive
scrutiny. Certified Gemologists analyze every aspect (color, clarity, cut,
carat weight, dimensions, fluorescence, and all other characteristics) of
the diamond under a microscope. |
 |
|
Each gemological laboratory refers to the report with different name:
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) – Diamond Grading Report
and Diamond Dossier
American Gem Society Laboratories (AGSL) – Diamond Quality Report or
Diamond Quality Document
The European Gemological Laboratory (EGL) – Diamond Certificate
The International Gemological Institute (IGI) – Diamond Report
|
My Solitaire Diamonds are certified through one of the four recognized
laboratories. We not only carry diamonds that are certified we also put them
through our quality checks to ensure that there is minimal chance of mistake on
the grading of the diamond.
When you purchase certified diamonds from My Solitaire the original certificate
will accompany the diamond. The certificates are needed to insure the diamond or
to secure an appraisal certificate.
