Alexandrite is perfectly known as “an Emerald by Day and Amethyst by Night” by the famous gemologist Fax Bauer. The color depends upon three factors i.e. daylight color, incandescent light color, and the degree of change between two. The top quality displays greenish to bluish green shade in the daytime and red to purplish red under the incandescent light.
