The mineralogical name for Turquoise is Calaite, derived from a name used by Pliny. This gemstone heated to give an enhancement to the color makig it more bright. The name is commonly used called Oriental Turquoise, true or mineral Turquoise or Turquoise de la vieille roche, or just plain turquoise.
